In 2019, the new Competition Law and Implementing Regulations came into effect in Saudi Arabia, ushering with it a new competition regime that has become one of the most active globally. The implications of the new law on merger control is wide reaching given the relatively low reporting thresholds required to trigger a notification filing with the General Authority for Competition.
